Check out these photos from Room 306...on the left is Stephanie, who is hard at work on a map. She is getting help from three other students, Brian, Aaron, and Jamal.
In the middle is the dynamic duo of Gisselle and Vivian. Can't wait to see what amazing project they've put together. On the right, is Jennifer....and, ladies and gentlemen, once the water colors come out, you can just bet the end product will be both informative and beautifully executed. Go, Jenny! Go, Jenny! Her group also includes Ujala, Rida, Shazya, and Mr. Powerpoint, Martin. |
Room 306 (8th Grade) began a week's worth of projects. It is a lot of work, but hopefully will be both academically rewarding and fun. Up first, we began an in-depth examination of Native Americans in America. Groups will take turn reading the highly acclaimed Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, as well as Before Columbus: The Americas in 1491. Stay posted for Friday projects depicting, analyzing, and creatively showcasing a new understanding of the treatment of the Native Americans throughout the history of our nation. Along with these important and amazing non-fiction texts, Room 306 is spending the week summarizing and analyzing a few chapters of The Story of US: The New Nation. They too will be showcasing their comprehension of the text through creative projects this Friday! I can't wait for Friday! Here's how it looks so far: |
